My newest Dreo fan followed me to CES

Your fans are watching you, doing their best to keep you calm. in Consumer Electronics Show 2025I stood still when the room fan detected my presence and turned to focus on me. It was a welcome relief, especially on a crowded trade show floor.

Dreo’s motion-sensing fan, the PolyFan 707S, can tell when someone is in a room, and even detect multiple people. I watched the motion sensor bar as its lights turned from green to red, indicating where the Dreo actor and I stood within its field of vision. When I stepped aside, the fan focused only on me.

The fan uses millimeter wave radar to track the room’s occupants and adjust its direction. With a viewing range and oscillation of up to 150 degrees, it can cover almost the entire room when placed in a corner.

Plus, apart from motion sensing, the PolyFan 707S is smarter than your average fan in other ways, too. It connects to the Dreo app, allowing you to control it wherever you are. It is also compatible with Google Home, Apple Home Kit and Alexa. Pricing isn’t available yet, but a Dreo representative told me to expect it to be priced between $150 and $200 when it launches in May 2025.

A tower fan also heats up

I watched as a different Drew Tower fan Convert it to the space heater and then back to the fan. The secret is a mechanical heater that slides to the front of the fan component in Dreo’s MC706 2-in-1 Tower Fan and Heater. It moves like a big, slow, bulky piece of machinery — reminiscent of the retracting door to Jabba the Hutt’s palace in Star Wars.

The fan rotates quickly from blowing cold air (although this is not an air conditioner, just a fan) to blowing hot air. Dreo says he can make this change in just a few seconds. The heater has 1,500 watts of power and comes with overheat protection and tip-over detection, as you would want from any space heater.

It comes with a thermostat that allows you to set the temperature anywhere between 41 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit, and also includes a remote control for added convenience.

Small space heater for the entire room

If you’re looking for an affordable space heater that can warm an entire room while sitting at a table or desk, you’ve finally taken a look at one of Dreo’s upcoming products that fits the bill. It’s a commercial space heater — the SH615 — and is expected to retail for around $100, a rep told me.

As a circulating heater, it operates as a built-in fan with a built-in heating element. Instead of simply oscillating back and forth, it uses 3D rotation to distribute warm air throughout the room at different angles. Its small size makes it ideal for placing on a desk or table, where it can provide consistent, soothing heat.
