‘My heart is so full’ – Natosha Rogers shares her raw reaction after being named top American woman at the Chicago Marathon

American track star Natosha Rogers shared her reaction on social media after being named the best American woman in the 2025 Chicago Marathon. Rogers finished sixth overall, clocking a time of 2:23:28, her best time ever. It was Ethiopian Hawi Fesa who won the women’s marathon, recording a time of 2:14:56.

Rogers last competed in the Copenhagen Half Marathon, where she placed ninth overall. She also ran in the Nagoya Women’s Marathon, recording a time of 2:23:51 which was her personal best at the time. Rogers is best known for her performance at the 2022 NACAC Championships, where she won gold in the 5,000 metres. She represented Texas A&M University during her college career.

Natasha Rogers She also won the 10,000-meter national title during her time with Texas A&M. She was considered one of the most exciting American runners at the time.

Natosha Rogers She discussed some of the challenges she faced before competing in the 2025 Chicago Marathon. In an interview on FloTrack, Rogers said: (0:59 onwards)

“We’ll definitely be shooting for the PR on Sunday. 222 is what we told the Pacers team. I mean, based on my training, that’s a little conservative. But I want to go out conservative. I’ve been struggling. My only biggest struggle is getting sick. So I’ve been throwing up. Not a great thing, but I know how to get through it if that happens. And yeah, I hope it doesn’t happen. I’ll try not to make mistakes there. Other than that, I feel like Really good. “I feel ready to play for 30 minutes.”

“Yes, it’s terrible. The whole body goes milky. It happened in Copenhagen. I was going to PR a kilometer before the finish and I was passing all these people and then on the home stretch it starts to show and the whole body goes all milky and you just have to go through it. It’s not nice.”

Apart from Natosha RogersOther American women competing in the Chicago Marathon include Rachel Bobin and Gabby Rucker, who placed seventh and ninth overall. Rogers received $15,000 for being named Best American.
