Police said that more than 200 prisoners escaped from a prison in the largest city in Pakistan after an earthquake in the early hours of Tuesday.
Thousands of prisoners collapsed the doors, their cell locks and shattered windows after they felt trembling shaking the walls in the Maler prison in Karachi.
Among those who escaped from prison, the police said that 80 prisoners were restored and that the searches were continuing for more than 130 prisoners. One prisoner was killed in the operation and two officers were injured in prison.
The prison director said that the BBC began to scream from their cells and their broadcasts in the middle of the night because they felt terrified that the building would collapse over them.

After the frenzy turned into violence, the police said they had responded with warning footage, and fired in the air.
While many returned to their cells, others stormed the main gate in a state of panic – as 216 prisoners used the opportunity to escape from prison completely.
The police now go from door to door, and visit the past housing to arrest those who are still fleeing.
The attachment in the Malir area is the second largest prison in Sind County, and it is more than his energy. Although it can accommodate up to 2,200 prisoners, there are at least 5,000 prisoners there currently.

The Minister of Prisons in the province, Ali Hassan Zardari, ordered the investigation and cautioned any officers for a mistake.
“The security break is not a natural disaster,” the prison supervisor told the BBC.
He said that the prison security teams were at a state of maximum alert, and he responded to the accident all the time.
Families were protesting the main prison doors, and the police said that other prisoners were frustrated by the postponement of visits.
