“In my opinion, as soon as the individual dies, the purposes of the 21st of the rule were served.”
Marcus Jiamati, the son of the former commissioner who signed the agreement that banned Rose, said in a statement that he “is incredibly disappointed” in Manfred’s decision.
“I am also disappointed that my family was not consulted before this decision,” he said. “The Commissioner’s decision makes this a very dark day for baseball, country and fans.
“My father’s task was by banning Rose to adhere to the integrity of the game. Therefore, Rose’s return in this way puts that integrity, rule 21 and all that my father fought to support him in danger.”
She reached 17 times from all stars during her career in the period from 1963-1986, Rose maintains Rose for Hits (4,256), games (3,562), AT-Bats (14,053), Painting appearances (15,890) and individual (3,215). 1963 was NL Rookie of the Year, 1973 MVP and 1975 World Series MVP.
