Referring to the UK and the United States Convention, a senior European Union diplomat said that the bloc “must hope that the European Union with its 450 million people has more commercial forces than the United Kingdom.”

Germany’s economy depends on exports and has been beaten in particular through definitions. ACEA, the auto manufacturer, said that car makers were losing “millions of two numbers” per day as a result. The German auto industry represents about 5 percent of the country’s gross domestic product.

The United States is the second largest vehicle exports market in the European Union after the United Kingdom. In 2024, more than 750,000 cars were exported, worth 38.9 billion euros. The United States has exported 169,000 to the European Union worth 7.8 billion euros, according to ACEA.

Among the German car makers, BMW is especially bully that the United States is flying a 25 percent tariff.
