Microsoft opens the sources of the Line of Order and more in Build

At the Build 2025 conference, Microsoft opened a number of applications and tools, including a new Windows orders editor called Edit.

The open sources program may not gain direct revenue for the company, but it can serve as a form of market research – and suppress the payment and services paid. By contributing to the open resource community, Microsoft acquires valuable knowledge and products suggestions, as well as ideas for future trends.

Edit, which will be installed by Windows via Windows Insider, will allow this summer, for developers to edit files directly on the command line by running the “Edit” command. The goal is to reduce the unnecessary switching of context and allow developers to stay in their current flows, says Microsoft.

Elsewhere, Microsoft opens the sources of GitHub Copilot in VS Code, the auxiliary coding extension of the Visual Studio symbol. Over the next few months, the capabilities that run artificial intelligence will take place from the extension of the GitHub Copilot to the Vs Open Source warehouse, says Microsoft.

Finally, Windows for Linux (WSL), which is the feature in Windows that allows users to run the Linux environment directly on their Windows system, from sources, says Microsoft. This will allow developers to reach the source code and make any changes they may need for a specific use.
