Manchester United continue to search for a new signing at left-back, according to one of their former scouts.

The Red Devils have a clear problem in this position at the moment, with Diogo Dalot often filling in despite it not being his best position.

New manager Ruben Amorim will certainly want to bring in someone well-suited to play as a left-back in his 3-4-3 system, and none of the players currently at Old Trafford appear to be well-suited to that role.

Manchester United is ready to move for 50 million euros for the left-back!

talking to Football from the insideformer Manchester United scout Mick Brown says this is a position they will definitely do something with as soon as possible, given that Dalot is not really a left-back, and Luke Shaw has had ongoing injury problems, while also describing Tyrell Malacia is not the answer.

Although Brown did not mention any specific names, he did discuss the matter United need a new left-back To replace the club’s current options.

“They’re going to have to step up their efforts,” Brown said.

“The specialist left-back is one they have been looking to sign since Amorim arrived, and I think with each game it becomes clearer that this is what they need.

“To be fair to Dalot, he has been very important for Manchester United by filling in where he is asked to play, even if he can struggle at times.

“But Manchester United with Luke Shaw is a completely different proposition.

“His injury was a huge blow, because he gives them class, he gives them composure, he is very good on the ball and he is a good defender as well.

“But because of those injuries, it’s an area they’re going to have to address.

“Malacia is not the answer either.

“A decision has to be made on Shaw’s future, and that of Dalot as well, although I expect him to remain a very important player in the team due to his versatility.

“But they will move during the transfer period to add a new player, because it has become a problem for them in this position.”
