George Russell maintained its third end in the major prize race in Miami after the post -race protest by Red Paul against Mercedes driver was rejected.
Russell ended one place in front of Max Versaben in the final platform marina on Sunday, but Red Ball launched a protest against the Mercedes driver to the referees after that, claiming that the British had failed to slow the single yellow flag sufficiently during the race.
The referees heard representatives of both teams in a hearing in the hours that followed the race, but they eventually rejected the Red Paul case.
Verstapen 2.3s ended behind Russell – who jumped from the Dutch by influencing a previous virtual safety car – so at any time the Mercedes driver could have delivered third place world champion instead of the fourth.
In the session, Red Bull claimed that “while (Russell) filed the suffocating when the yellow flag was shown, he did not reduce the speed,” and so he argued that the Mercedes did not adhere to the regulations.
However, Mercedes representatives said that “the common practice that was accepted by all teams and FIA was and still is that raising the suffocating in the yellow science area is a suitable reaction and thus complied with the relevant regulations.”
They said that Russell was “greatly”, he raised the suffocating after seeing the Saber car that was cut off in Gabriel Portolo on the side of the track.
The referees threw the Red Ball case – which means that the team has lost a protest deposit.
In their conclusions, Stewards said: “It was clear from shots on the plane, as well as from the measurement that the 63th car (Russell) raised the suffocating when passing the yellow flag.
“The sheep was raised by about 25 percent, which reduced the torque of about 30 percent.
Article 26.1 A) requires the driver to obtain a “distinct reduction speed” in the yellow science area, but it does not determine whether to reduce the absolute speed or reduce the speed in relation to the regular race speed in the relevant part of the track.
“The speed of the car 63 in the yellow science area was much slower than the regular race speed, but the absolute speed while passing through the yellow science area increased slightly.
The rulers specify that the requirements of Article 26.1 A) With regard to reducing the speed in the yellow science area can only be related to reducing the proportion of the usual racing speed because reducing absolute speed can, depending on the part of the path in which the yellow flag is displayed, and the compliance or lack of compliance with existence is represented with the exactly equipped decomposition.
“For example, in the braking area, the absolute speed can be reduced without necessarily compliance with the regulations.”
The decision means that Russell maintains the fourth trading platform in six races this season, and Miami leaves only six points on VersAPPEN, third in the drivers championship.
Mercedes second place is 36 points from Red Bull in the Pantusses Championship, although now 105 behind the McLaren Leaders after the completion of the Wingo team.
