President Claudia Shinbom says Mexico is suggesting Google to ignore repeated requests not to call the Gulf of Mexico in the Gulf of America on Google Maps for American users.

You did not say where the case was filed. Google did not respond to the BBC request for comment.

On Thursday, the Republican Parliament, to officially rename the Gulf, voted for federal agencies.

President Donald Trump signed an executive order on his first day in January.

He said that the change was justified because the United States “is doing most of the work there, and it is ours.”

However, the Shinbum government claims that Trump’s command applies only to the American part of the continental shelf.

She said, “All we want is to comply with the decree issued by the US government,” stressing that the United States lacks the authority to rename the entire Gulf.

In January, Shinbom wrote a letter to Google asking the company to reconsider its decision to rename the Gulf of Mexico for American users. The following month, the legal procedures threatened.

At that time, Google said she had succeeded in changing as part of a “long -term exercise” of the next name changes when updated by official government sources.

He said that the Gulf – which limits the United States, Cuba and Mexico – will not be changed to people who use the application in Mexico, and will see users elsewhere in the poster world: “The Gulf of Mexico (Gulf of America)”.

The Associated Press (AP) refusal to start referring to the Gulf of America has resulted in a period of months with the White House, which AP is restricted to some events.

The White House federal judge ordered in April to stop marginalizing the port.

Trump hinted on Wednesday that it might recommend changing the way the United States refers to another group of water.

During a coming visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, he is planning to announce that the United States will from now on the Persian Gulf as the Arabian Gulf or the Gulf of Arabia.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Archi stated that he hoped that “ridiculous rumors” will not exceed a misleading information campaign, and this step “will bring the anger of all Iranians.”
