Manchester United stadium plans with a big boost

Manchester United’s plans took a new step near last night after they received the green light from the Trafford Council.

United is looking to either build a new place 100,000 seats to replace Old Trafford, or to renew the current land and increase the capacity to 87,000.

The club will decide the path that must be taken at the end of the season, but both will require the approval of the local council in view of the impact it will make on the local economy and infrastructure.

This was granted through an oral vote at the city council meeting last night.

“I am pleased that these plans were approved by the Executive Council. As the report says, this is one of the most important opportunities for urban renewal in Trafford and the results will be great in the region and the surrounding area,” said Kon Les Patel, Executive Member of Economy and Renewal at the Trafford Council.

“This is a very exciting project that works with our partners and special developers, and we will look forward to creating thousands of new homes, new neighborhoods, and the World Model Stadium preparation.

“Along with Manchester United, Greater Manchester Completely and Salford City Council, we will make sure that these plans will benefit everyone, including local population, companies and football fans.”

The plans receive government support

It is estimated that the new stadium can add 7.3 billion pounds to the economy and create 90,000 jobs.

Plans have already been supported by the work government that can see the economic and social benefits of such a wide renewal plan.

United will finance the stadium development, but it is possible to use public funds to redevelop the surrounding area.
