Manchester United defender retires and gets a new role in Old Trafford

Johnny Evans confirmed his retirement from playing and played a role as head of loan and paths in Manchester United.

Defender Evans presented 536 senior matches, including 107 capsules for Northern Ireland.

The largest part of his club matches with United came, which was won by three Premier League titles, the Champions League, the FA Cup, and the EFL Cup. It was made in 2023.

Evans hindered injuries in recent years and made seven league matches for the 37 -year -old season, who decided to hang his shoes.

He told the club’s official website: “I want to officially announce my retirement from my career, not sad, but with pride, gratitude and excitement for the next semester. I will be indebted forever for managers, coaches and employees, and of course my teammates, I had the honor to work in addition to 20 years in professional football.

“I must go to the greatest and thank my heartfelt thanks to the fans who supported me during every step of the trip. It is an honor for me to be on the field and feel your passion at home and far away; I will be grateful forever for every ounce of support.”

Evans is enthusiastic about a new role

Evans, who enjoyed a loan talisman in Antwerp and two temporary skills in Sunderland early in his career, is excited to help other young players experience away from Old Trafford.

He added: “I look forward to working with the next generation of talented players to support them to reach their capabilities. After they had experience in myself, I know that the decisive role they can play within the development of the player. I am excited to help develop the path to our first team and continue the legacy of young players who flourish in Manchester United.”
