Manchester City secure victory in the legal battle with the Premier League

Manchester City won a great victory in its legal battle with the Premier League after announcing the rules of the ruling body on “invalid and implemented”, according to the Times.

An independent court ruled in October that the rules related to the transactions of the associated parties (APT) – which were imposed between 2021 and 2024 – were illegal in three areas.

The Premier League amended these three laws in November – with the support of 16 of its twenty members – but City opposed the health of APT as a whole, and the argument of the English champions was supported.

According to the Times newspaper, who claim to have seen the independent court ruling consisting of three major legal figures in Sir Nigel Hook, the Lord Dyson and Christopher Valjda K. The APT rules and modified APT rules were illegal in three aspects.

“There is now a decision to decide on a question whether these three respect from the remaining appropriate rules can be cut off so that the remaining rules are valid and implemented.

“The three respect in which the APT rules and the amended APT rules cannot be cut off illegal, which leads to the fact that the rules of APT as a whole are void and not implemented.”

Manchester City and Newcastle can benefit

The rules surrounding APT were brought to prevent clubs from inflating the value of care deals with the associated parties. The court’s ruling can allow the city’s proverbs, owned by Abu Dhabi and Newcastle, owned by the majority by the General Investment Fund in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to conclude new agreements.

The Times report, Richard Master, CEO of the Premier League, wrote to its clubs today and tried to reduce the importance of the court ruling.
