The Transport Authority in the British capital said that multiple lines on the underground London network were suspended or disabled on Monday due to the power outage.
Transport for London showed that at least three subway lines were suspended due to power outages, and there were severe delays and partial suspension on at least six other lines during the peak hour on Monday afternoon.
The Transport Authority said it is working with the national network to determine the cause of power outages.
“Because of the brief power of the energy source to our network, several power lines have lost a short time earlier this afternoon,” Claire Man, TFL Executive Director of Operations, said in a statement.
“We are working to raise the entire network and run it again as soon as possible,” she added.
The National Network said that there is a “mistake” on the transmission network in central London and that “it was solved within seconds.”
Earlier, a London transport spokesman told PA that there was a reduction in southern London “for a minute”, causing disturbance in the subway network.
British media reported that many stations in central London were completely closed. Waterloo was among the worst affected stations, CBS News BBC News mentioned. It seems that the Transport for London or TFL site faces problems, as some travel advice pages have not been loaded.
Last month, the power outage caused by a fire at an electrical sub -station in West London was forced to close Heathrow Airport One of the most busy airports in the world – almost a day, has disrupted thousands of flights. This interruption also reduces energy to more than 16,000 homes in the region.
The government ordered the investigation of “energy flexibility” in the country after the fire, which raised concerns about the United Kingdom’s ability to withstand disaster or attacks on critical infrastructure.
