Locals are using TikTok to solicit donations for Los Angeles fire victims

A street vendor and volunteers harnessed the power of social media to help those affected by the Los Angeles wildfires.

Jimmy Medina Jr. said his TikTok live stream led to generous donations that allowed him to buy supplies and feed people from his hot dog cart.

“Through the power of TikTok, all of our TikTok viewers sent us donations… Through their donations, we were able to purchase all the ingredients,” Medina Jr. said.

Clothes and other necessities are also being distributed at a donation center set up in the parking lot at Santa Anita Park, Arcadia.
