Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and other top clubs have been listed as transfer candidates for Crystal Palace midfielder ‘Revelation’ Adam Wharton.

However, it looks like these clubs, along with rivals such as Manchester City, Tottenham and Real Madrid, will have to wait before getting a chance to sign the England international.

This is according to Pete O’Rourke of Football from the insideas he told their podcast that Wharton is unlikely to leave Selhurst Park mid-season.

Wharton settled in the mansion It appears he will not push for a January transfer, so Liverpool and other suitors may have to wait until the summer to have a better chance of completing a deal.

While discussing Wharton’s situation, O’Rourke strongly played down the likelihood of Palace letting the 21-year-old leave this winter, even if there is a long list of elite clubs chasing him.

O’Rourke said: “He doesn’t seem to be in a rush to leave Palace at the moment, he is enjoying his football and playing week in and week out in the Premier League.”

“Wharton seems happy with life at Selhurst Park, but his form and performance will attract interest from other clubs.

“Liverpool and Manchester United are fans of Manchester City, Chelsea, Tottenham and even Real Madrid have all been linked with Wharton.

“He has been a revelation since his move to Selhurst Park and it is no surprise that all the elite European clubs are looking at him.”

Which club needs Adam Wharton the most?

It will be interesting to see where Wharton ends up if he leaves Palace in the next year or so.

It’s clear that this exciting young talent will have plenty of options available to him, and it looks like he could be a perfect fit for Liverpool.

At the same time, there is already plenty of competition for places in Arne Slott’s midfield, so perhaps he would be better off coming in as Rodri’s long-term successor at Manchester City.

Chelsea could also be a good option as they have shown their commitment to trusting and developing the best young players from this country and abroad.

United are also certain to build around Wharton as they are desperate for a big new signing in midfield, so he could be given a key role there to help get the Red Devils back to their best.
