Liverpool fans meet in Anfield to honor Dugo Jota

Liverpool fans arrived at Anfield this morning to put flowers in honor of striker Dugo Jota, who was killed in a car accident overnight.

The accident occurred in Zamora, a boycott in the northwest of Spain, also claimed the life of Jota André Silva’s brother.

The local civil guards said: “The information we have so far is that the car, which was Lamborghini, was in a traffic accident on the road and left the road due to the explosion of the tires while it was crossed.

It was in the early hours, at 1230 am, in the municipality of Sirnadilla in Zamura Province.

“The fire was caught in the car and two passengers were killed.”

Jota was 28 years old and his brother, who played with Penafiel, the second Portuguese team, 25 years old.

Starmer says that the death of Gota is “destroyed”

The news is another hammer blow to a city that is not alien to the tragedy with both UK Prime Minister Kiir Starmer and his Portuguese counterpart Louis Montenegro offered their condolences.

“This is devastating news. I am sure I am talking about everyone in saying our first ideas will be with his family and friends in particular,” Starmer said.

“There are millions of Liverpool fans, but also football fans and non -fans who will be shocked by this.

“It is really a devastating and important matter that we are in mind how difficult it is for his friends and his family.”

Al -Jabal Al -Aswad added: “The news of the death of Dugo Jota, a sporting, has a great generosity of Portugal, and his brother is unexpected and tragic.

“I offer deepest condolences to their families. It is a sad day for national and international football and sports.”

Gotta recently married and has three children

Jota got married two weeks before her long -term partner Rue Cardoso. They have three children.

Liverpool fans gathered this morning with many wreath wreaths next to the Hillburo Monument Monument outside Anfield.

Two former clubs, Stephen Gerrard and Jimmy Carager, also offered their condolences, Jotta’s international colleague Cristiano Ronaldo did.

Karager wrote on X: “Best news about Diogo Jota and his brother Andre this morning. Ideas with everyone from their families and friends, especially his wife Rue and their three beautiful children.”

Gerard added: “Rip Diogo. My condolences to his family and friends during this sad time.”

I love Anfield

Liverpool Gotta fell from the wolves in 2020 and immediately became a major member of the team, and to help Merids in the FA Cup in 2022. They also finished second in the European Federation Cup for the Stock Exchange and the Champions League in that season.

Jota began in Pacos de Ferreira, where his shape earned him a move to ATLETICO MADRID. He struggled to leave an impression in the Spanish capital and was loaned to Porto in his homeland, then to wolves in 2017.

His move to Molineux has always in January 2018, in the middle of a season in which he scored 17 goals in the league to push wolves to upgrade to the Premier League.

At the international level, Jota scored 14 goals in 49 games, helping them in the Nations League title in 2019 and again last month. Gota came out of the bench as an additional alternative, as Portugal beat Spain on penalty shootouts in the final.
