The company announced on July 31 that it plans to transition its publicly traded business to the ASX only, with new expectations that it will now exit on November 13, 2025.
The reason behind this move from Light & Wonder is that it allows them to have a “strategic focus” on bringing the business together in terms of “growth plans” and workplace, which is described as “aligning our presence in the capital markets”.
By turning to Australia, Light & Wonder claims it has a “deep and liquid market with a strong understanding of the gaming sector”. Australians are reported to have become the world’s biggest gambling spenders, with a 2024 report showing they lose more than A$25 billion ($16,123,875,000) annually.
