“Life felt as a slave”: Ex H 1B is pregnant saying that the shift to B 1 Visa gave him the freedom to build his own works

For many Indian professionals, the H-1B visa and work in the United States are often seen as a summit of success-a ticket to high-wage technology functions, international exposure, and the so-called American dream. But for Aniruddha, an Indian businessman who spent nearly a decade on H-1B, the experiment turned to be more restricted than editing.

After nine years in the United States, he decided to give up his position in H-1B and turn into a B-1 business visa, a step he says “completely changed his life.” With his Instagram story, Aniruddha has a sharp contradiction between his life as a H-1B factor and the freedom he is now as a business owner.

“I was on the H-1B visa for nine years, then I turned into B-1- when my life has completely changed,” he wrote.

During his years under H-1B, Aniruddha says he was constantly impaired with visa restrictions and bureaucratic uncertainty. He could not start his own work in the United States, and he was limited to only one annual trip to India, and lived with constant anxiety of renovations and policy transformations.

He said: “Life was worldly-I felt as a slave,” describing how the strict system suffocated its professional and personal independence despite its success in the function of prominent companies.

The B-1 visa, designed for short-term commercial visits instead of full-time employment, has opened a different type of flexibility. From his base in India, Aniruddha now runs his LLC Lieutenant -General (LLC), and is making two commercial flights to the United States every year, and has a 10 -year visa health period without the annual pressure of renewal.

“Life feels in my control and exciting every day,” he said. “My LLC administration is legally, as I travel twice a year to the United States from India, a 10 -year valid visa, and there is no pressure on policy changes, and the enjoyment of businessbirth.”

He soon went viral, which sparked the discussion between the ambitious immigrants and migrants. While many praised their courage to move away through the traditional H-1B, others raised questions about the legitimacy of the visa and the long-term practical application.

One user hung, “But in B-1, you are not allowed to engage in any fruitful/income generator. Then how will you manage work in the United States?”

Others referred to the preferences: “You will never get a green card on the B-1; H-1B can offer I-140. H-1B provides the stability of jobs; companies are fraught with risks!”

Some were curious about the financial feasibility of such a switch. “Where does the investment of your LLC come from? Not everyone in India wants H-1B sitting on a pile of investment money. This is not for beginners,” Note one of the followers.

The H-1B visa allows employers to employ foreign professionals for specialized roles in areas such as IT, engineering, medicine and research. The worker usually connects one employer and limits independent work or entrepreneurship. On the contrary, the B-1 visa allows work travel, meetings and negotiations-but not direct employment or income generation within the United States

Airodha’s experience, although she is unconventional, sparked a conversation about the security price against the pursuit of freedom in the visa system. For some, H-1B is still a reliable gateway to long-term stay and job stability. For others like Aniruddha, the B-1 path offers a rare thing-freedom to determine work and success in one’s terms.
