Sir Ed Davi, the liberal democratic leader, will boycott a British state banquet for Donald Trump next month in protest against the alleged “collusion” of the American president in the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

“My Emily and I spent all the summer to think about this and prayed on this topic,” Davi added. “There is no honor like an invitation from the king and not accepting it against all our instincts.”

Democratic Democrats Leibon said that Trump was guilty of “complicity in the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza,” Davi said: “If Donald Trump (Israeli Prime Minister) informs Benjamin Netanyahu to stop this, it ends tomorrow.”

Pitti Patel, the shadow foreign minister, said that Davi’s boycott was a “deep lack of respect” of the king and showed a “horrific judgment.”

She added: “America is the closest ally and security partner we have, and the world’s largest economy.”
