LG carries a lot of… Speaker lineup 2024 to 2025but the company has one all-new model that it plans to debut this year. At CES, I got a preview of a built-in soundbar, the S20A, that will provide a boost to your TV’s sound without taking up a lot of space. The 2.0 channel unit delivers 50 watts of power and works best with LG TVs.
When paired with one of the company’s TVs, you can expect a Wow interface that lets you make audio adjustments through the TV’s user interface. There’s also AI Sound Pro technology that calibrates the sound based on each scene. LG will provide a three-band equalizer on the S20A, so you can tweak the treble, midrange, and bass to suit your preferences.
During a quick demo of the S20A, I was impressed by the powerful highs and clarity from the smaller unit. LG says it won’t come with a subwoofer because the company uses speaker drivers for this low-end tone. Of course, this setup doesn’t provide the booming bass that a standalone wireless subunit does, but the company doesn’t see that as an issue here. We’ll look to test this theory later in the year when the S20A is available for review.
No word on price or availability yet, as LG is only teasing the new soundbar here at CES. This information, in addition to more detailed specifications, should arrive closer to launch.
