Leeds left Patrick Bamford to leave the club after seven years.
The 31-year-old scored 60 goals for the club after scoring from Middlesbrough, including 17 in the Premier League in the 2020-21 season.
Director Daniel Fark said before the start of the season that it is unlikely that the former England will appear this season after failing to score in the championship last year.
Leeds said: “Patrick Iyand Rudd will leave as a hero twice and a winner of double promotion. It will forever be part of our proud history,” Leeds said.
“There was no doubt about Patrick’s enthusiasm in the representation of Leeds United and his understanding of our famous club badge. He gave everything to the issue and welcomed him on the path of Elland, at any time.”
Bamford’s free agent can join the club after the transfer date on Monday.
