Lazio Maurizio Sari was restored as a director – a year after his resignation from the post.

Sari, 66, resigned as Lazio coach in March 2024 after nearly three years responsible.

Lazio finished seventh in the first division in 2023-24, after ranked second in the previous season. Sari replaces Marco Baroni.

“Maurizio Sari returned home. His return is to choose the heart, condemnation and vision,” Club president Claudio Loto said in a statement.

“With him we want to resume a very early path, we realize that we can restore enthusiasm, identity and ambition. Welcome to your home commander.”

Sarri managed to manage a large number of clubs and spent a year responsible for Chelsea – he won the European League in 2019.

He won the first division in 2020 during his one season responsible for Juventus.
