Viewers can fly across the Los Angeles sky and escape from bad traffic in the city during the 2028 Olympic Games if the organizers are their way.

La28, the committee accused of planning the third summer games of the city, has announced a partnership with Archer Aviation to provide air car service during both the Olympic Games and the Disabled.

The company says it plans to use a fleet of aircraft to transport fans to and from places.

Taxi flying was a long dream. They were first planned in the Paris Games in 2024, but they were not approved by the Air Safety Agency in Europe in a timely manner.

Likewise, Archer Aviation has not yet been adopted by the US Federal Aviation Administration, which means that the plane is not yet ready for commercial use. The founder and CEO said that he hopes to obtain this main registration – a certificate of the type that it says meets design and safety standards – by the aviation organizer this year.

If they receive a timely certificate for 2028 games, air taxis will provide flights from 10 to 20 minutes to population and visitors and fly between the chosen destinations, including many of the largest Olympic places in the region.

It is not clear how much costs of each flight, but the founder of Aircher Air and CEO Adam Goldstein said he wanted to maintain prices similar to a developed opery, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Like a famous passenger service, customers will be able to order a taxi through the application. The plane can carry up to four people and operate similar to a helicopter to take off and land.

The midnight plane is part of a family of vehicles called “EVTOLS” – which means electric vertical aircraft and landing.

Arther, backed by Boeing and United Airlines, are among many Evtol makers who seek to change travel in the crowded urban cities by offering air travel in the short term.

The industry has seen many obstacles, including the battery density, and no aircraft was approved by FAA.

The Archer Midnight is designed with 12 engine and fans, and “lower noise and less emissions than a traditional helicopter,” produces La28.

Archer Aviation hopes to be adopted by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) “at similar levels of safety as commercial aircraft.”

“We want to change the way people wander around Los Angeles and leave a legacy that forms the future of transportation in America,” Mr. Goldstein said in a statement. “There is no better time to do this through La28 games.”

Safety, regulations and investment have proven a significant obstacle to companies trying to provide taxis. Despite the setbacks and delay, many still believe they can be the future of transportation.

Archer Aviation is still confident that its aircraft can link modern trends, and the 2028 Olympics see as a way to introduce them to the world.

The UK government announced the future action plan in 2024, expecting that the first flying taxi can take off in the United Kingdom by 2026 and become a regular scene in the sky.

Los Angeles hosted earlier the Olympic Games in 1984 and 1932, which made this the third time that the city hosts the summer games. The city announced that the 2028 games will not allow cars, which is long after plans have been developed to expand the area of the area.
