Kyle Richards shares why she stopped filming ‘RHOBH’

Kyle Richards She revealed the reason for her hiatus from filming during a yet-to-air episode of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”

The “RHOBH” star took a break from filming Season 14 after his exit during an episode that aired on Jan. 21 titled “A Perfect Storm Out.”

During an interview with Hollywood ReporterKyle Richards revealed that she stopped filming the series because she became depressed.

Richards has been separated from her husband of nearly 30 years. Mauricio UmanskyTheir 2023 split has been featured on the reality show ever since. A sneak peek at the episode, titled “A Perfect Storm Out,” shows the 56-year-old exiting a spa day after things got heated with her co-stars.

Footage from the trailer for Season 14 of “RHOBH” captured a heated exchange between Richards and her co-star, Dorit Kemsley.

The two women argued over text messages from Richards’ husband and Kemsley, and Kyle said: “What more do you want from me?”

Kemsley shouted, “I need you to stop raising your voice at me!”

Richards was also seen getting out of her co-star’s spa day Bozoma Saint JohnHouse wears a bathrobe after getting into a confrontation with the ladies.

“I’m done with this,” Richards shouted. i’m done. I’m not doing this anymore!”

Richards revealed that she stopped filming the reality show after her spa day for a week.

Richards told The Hollywood Reporter that depression played a role in her decision to stop filming “RHOBH.” She didn’t film for a week after the spa day blowout and explained that she was tired of the confrontations with the other ladies.

“I regretted the way I handled it, but I didn’t leave. I’m not one of those people who gets depressed,” she said. “I’ve struggled with anxiety my whole life but never depression. I really felt like I was suffering from depression, and I expressed that. And I felt like I couldn’t go into scenarios all the time and have everyone attack me.”

“I thought maybe today would be different, as naive as that sounds,” she continued. “People who I thought were my friends, suddenly felt like they weren’t. It felt like it was too much for what was going on in my life, and I thought, ‘Why am I putting myself through this?’ I don’t know why I keep doing this.”

Richards also revealed that she almost didn’t return for Season 14 due to her personal life. The former “Little House on the Prairie” actress is the only original cast member still on “RHOBH.”

The OG said her personal life almost kept her from participating in the current season, but she decided the show would help keep her busy while she adjusted to her new life.

“That was the closest I’ve ever come to not returning to the show,” Richards revealed. “The show is a lot of pressure, and I’ve had a lot of difficult and painful things going on in my personal life. I was like, ‘I don’t really know how I can spend a season dealing with this.'” We also have a lot of fun on the show too, and I didn’t even know if I had the ability to do it.”

“I remember coming home when Mao first moved in and Alexia had just moved in. It was like, ‘Oh my God, my house is so quiet.’ “I’m not used to it,” she continued. “It was one of those days when no one was there.” . “I thought it would be strange for me to live this new life with fewer people at home and, on top of that, wanting to be busy and occupied.”

Richards said Bravo respected her decision to take a break from filming after she checked out of the spa at St. John’s house.

“I said, ‘I can’t do this, I can’t shoot right now,’ and the production respected that,” Richards revealed. “They know I’ve never done that. In all these years, I’ve never called in sick or showed up for anything, and I’ve never canceled a photo shoot. So they said, ‘Take this time, I guess.’ You need it, and you will.” Meet again when you feel better. I definitely felt supported by the network and the production, so I took that time until I felt strong again and gathered my thoughts about what I wanted to do.

The reality TV star added that she took what seemed like “a lot” of vacation because she “never steps away.”

She said about her vacation: “Actually, I don’t remember now because it was seven months ago, but not more than a week.” “We do an episode every week. If I was going to leave, I had to leave. If I had the ability to stay, I had to honor what I signed up for. So, I took that into consideration and unfortunately, the people-pleaser in me didn’t walk away.” (Completely) And I was struggling with that too.
