King Charles III and Queen Camilla will arrive in Canada at a later time, to visit two days that are a message of support for the country in the face of threats and ridicule of US President Donald Trump.
Prime Minister Mark Carney, who recently won general elections on a wave of anti -Trump’s feelings, called on the royal couple and will hold a meeting with them during their stay in Ottawa.
The king will read the “Throne Khattab” to the Canadian Parliament on Tuesday, which is the first time that the king has delivered this nearly 50 years ago.
Defense of Canada is expected to include and reject the allegations that the United States must assume.
There will be a festive welcome at the airport in Ottawa on Monday and meetings with community groups, which are expected to include representatives of the first nation’s societies in Canada.
The king will meet the first original ruler in Canada, General Mary Simon.
This is the first visit of the king and the queen to Canada since the beginning of their reign, after a planned trip was canceled last year due to the diagnosis of King Charles cancer.
By reading the speech from the throne, the king follows in the footsteps of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, who carried out the duty twice during her long reign in 1957 and 1977.
But the timing of this week’s visit was seen as a sign of solidarity with Canada, after calls from Trump to become the 51st countries in the United States.
The threat of the United States has canceled public opinion with some companies in Ottawa, as elsewhere in Canada, on national identity offers such as “Canadian” posters.
Carney, when Trump visited the White House earlier this month, that Canada was “not for sale” and this message is likely to be conveyed in the king’s speech written by the advice of the Canada government.
The former Canadian High Commissioner of the United Kingdom, Jeremy Kingsman, said this is a message that the king will deliver to deliver.
“It will be very positive for Canadian sovereignty. I can personally say that he is something that King Charles will celebrate his saying. I have no doubt,” said Kinsman, who worked as a diplomat with the king when Prince Wales.
The speech, which will be delivered in French and English, will determine the agenda of Canadian government’s policy in a manner similar to the king’s speech at the opening of the state to parliament in Westinster.
But it is also expected to have lines that confirm Canada’s independence – the country of Commonwealth and NATO member.
Speaking before visiting the king and opening the state, Carney said: “This is a historical honor that matches the weight of our time.”
Regarding the ceremony, the king is expected to wear a suit, in the event that it will be a more low key than the crown and the response offered at the opening of Parliament in the United Kingdom.
In addition to the parliament speech, this short journey will include societal events in Ottawa and an opportunity to meet local leaders.
This royal visit will be something of the diplomatic balance law. The king is the President of Canada and the United Kingdom – and in his role in the United Kingdom, the king was helping to maintain good relations with the United States, and sends a warm personal letter to President Trump, who invites him to visit the second state.
In Canada, it is expected to reflect a completely different message, as the government of Canada rejected Trump’s ambition to control the country.
Before the visit, a royal source said: “The king has a long experience and great skill in walking this diplomatic cord.
“He was considered with great respect all over the world and through the political spectrum, with good relations with world leaders who understand his unique position.”
