A serious accident occurred on Wednesday during the launch of a new warship in North Korea, while leader Kim Jong Un was attending this event, describing it as a “criminal act” that cannot be tolerated.
Kim, who witnessed a failed launch of more than 4,500 tons, said that the accident was caused by the “neglect” that distorted the dignity of the country, and ordered the recovery of the ship before a major ruler’s meeting in June.
The report did not mention whether there were any victims.
KCNA said that the incident in the eastern port of Chongjin was due to the loss of balance during the launch of the ship and said that the war sections were crushed, but it did not give more details about the damage it suffered.
The report pointed out that Kim “conducted a strict evaluation, saying that it was a serious accident and a criminal argument resulting from absolute neglect, ineffective and non -scientific responsibility that is outside the limits of possibility and cannot be tolerated.”
The dignity of the state brought “collapse”: Kim
Kim said that the incident “brought the dignity and respect of our country to a collapse.” He said that the immediate restoration of the destroyer was “not just an practical issue, but a political issue directly related to the authority of the state.”
The South Korean army said the stricken warship was side in the water after its failed launch.
Seoul Song John spokesman Lee Song John said South Korea in South Korea and the United States.
The rare general disclosure of an accident follows a report on the launch of another destroyer in April in the Western Ship Building Basin in Namo. Kim attended this launch.
North Korea previously witnessed incidents such as space launch vehicles and civil disasters that were later used to enhance the role of leadership and the ruling labor party in correcting problems.
The destroyer destroys more than 4,500 tons launched by North Korea this year, the largest warship in the country so far.
In a report last week on preparations for the latest launch, US -based 38 North said it appears to be the ship will be launched alongside the sidewalk, a method that was not previously noticed in North Korea.
“The use of this launch method can be one of the necessity, as the sidewalk in which the ship is built does not have a mile,” said report 38 North.
The satellite mall in the shipbuilding basin showed the day before the destroyer was placed on the sidewalk with support ships alongside it.
North Korea expert in Seoul said that Pyongyang’s disclosure was amazingly quickly.
“He again shows the ruler Kim Jong -un style of cutting negative rumors from the publication of officials and controlling them more strongly by opening up instead of hiding it,” said Chyung Seong Zhang of the Segong Institute.
