Kiir Starmer says that the United Kingdom recognizes the Palestinian state

Prime Minister Sir Kerr Starmer said in a statement on social media that the United Kingdom is now officially recognized by the Palestinian state.

Before the announcement, Canada became the first G7 nation to take the same step, followed by Australia.

Starmer said he maintains the “possibility of peace” and insists that the United Kingdom “will continue to fight in order to bring” Israeli hostages at home.

However, the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs says, “recognition is only a reward for Hamas.”
