Kenny deputy fired a “targeted” attack in Nairobi

A Kenyan member was killed in Parliament in the streets of the capital, Nairobi, by gunmen on a motorcycle in the assassination of a suspect.

The police said the attackers were behind the Charles Ongundo before one of them got out of the motorcycle and shot him closely.

“It appears that the nature of this crime is targeted and predetermined,” Police spokeswoman, Mustiri Niaga, said in a statement.

The local media reported that the opposition deputy complained two months before the threats of his life.

After the shooting late on Wednesday, his driver and bodyguard, both of whom were incorrect, managed to rush to the injured deputy to Nairobi Hospital, where he announced his death upon his arrival.

The attack occurred along the Negong Road near a crowded roundabout often by traffic police officers and a good guarantee with security cameras.

Shortly after the shooting, senior police leaders, detectives visited the scene and the investigations ongoing, the police said.

President William Roto ordered the police to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the attack, adding: “The officials must be relied upon.”

Legislative colleagues who visited the scene expressed his shock and anger at killing and called for quick investigations and justice.

Parliament Speaker Moussa Witangola described the deputy as “a legislator without fear and distinct, describing the shooting as” devastating. “

Caspol’s circle in West Kenya was represented as a member of the Democratic Orange Movement, led by veteran politician Rila Odinga.

In his statement, Udinga condemned the murder, saying that the legislator was “without mercy and cold blood, shot a killer.”

“We lost the son of the soil!” Odinga added.

Odinga lost to President Roto in the 2022 elections and rejected the results due to the alleged violations.

Since then, the former Prime Minister has concluded a political deal with Roto, who has witnessed some opposition members joining the Council of Ministers in what is referred to as “the broad government.”
