The reporter asked the 40-year-old actress if she was aware that some fans have called for a boycott of JK Rowling over her anti-transgender campaigns.

A shocked Knightley admitted that she knew nothing about the drama, saying: “I wasn’t aware of that, no, I’m so sorry.” The “True Love” actress also expressed her hope that people learn to respect each other’s opinions in this day and age, no matter how different they are.

“You know, I think we’re all living in a period of time now where we’re all going to have to figure out how to live together, right? And we all have very different opinions. And I hope we can all get respect,” she added.
