Former US Vice President Kamala Harris will not nominate California next year, leaving the possibility that she can install a third round of the White House in 2028.
“During the past six months, I spent time thinking about this moment in the history of our nation and the best way for me to continue fighting for the American people and progress in the values and ideals that I hold,” Harris said in a statement issued by its office on Wednesday.
She said: “I have thought seriously about asking the California people about the privilege of work like their ruler. I love this state and its people and promise it. It is my home.” “But after deep thinking, I decided that I would not nominate the ruler in these elections.”
Harris’s decision extends a game of guessing her political future, which started after losing the presidential elections last year against Donald Trump. Harris spent months in thinking whether she was running for the ruler’s position, going to another in the White House, or moving away from electoral policy completely after being defeated by Trump.
She did not exclude another way for the president, after unsuccessful bids in 2020 and 2024. It is not known when this decision will be made.
The former Vice President of the United States and Democratic Presidential candidate, Kamal Harris, called on the Americans to stand before President Donald Trump and his “American High ideals” violation in her first major speech since he lost the elections.
“The moment of the crisis”
In her statement, Harris never mentioned Trump directly, but she said, “Our policies, our government and our institutions often failed, and reached its climax at the moment of the crisis.”
Harris said: “At the present time, my leadership – and public service – will not be in elected positions.
“In the United States of America, power must lie with people. We, we must use our strength to fight for freedom, opportunity, fairness and dignity of everyone. I will stay in that battle,” the statement said.
Harris had entered the crowded competition to replace the governor of Gavin Gavin, Ltd. as a front photographer, given wide recognition, and the ingenuity of donations and the registry tracking at the state levels. Before working in the United States and Vice -President of the United States, she was elected the state prosecutor and lawyer in the province in San Francisco.

But after years in Washington on the national and international theater, it was never clear whether Harris was interested in returning to the world of the lowest country policy in Sacramento.
Outside California, Harris’s political profession was distinguished by historical first but also disappointment.
Harris sought to nominate the Democratic Presidency for the year 2020, but he left the race in front of Iowa’s conferences – the first defeat in its political career.
After Joe Biden chose his colleague in running, she made history as the first woman, black person or South Asian origin working as a vice president. In 2024, Harris became a democratic presidential candidate after he left Biden months before the election day and supported them. I lost this race against Trump, who won every country swing.
The broken Democratic Party
Harris faces some uncertainty if she chooses another operation in the White House.
It had to convince the national Democrats that it was the face of the party’s future, despite its loss to Trump last fall. It also carries the luggage of binding Biden, which the Democrats have increasingly criticized for his endeavor to a second term instead of moving aside. Biden’s legacy was distorted while leaving his position, and since then, new questions have been harnessed about his physical and mental abilities with the end of his term.
The presidential competition is expected to attract 2028 large fields, which may include newsom. Any candidate to unify an intermittent democratic party with low approval classifications will have to slow the Trump agenda in Washington.
In most of her public statements since she left his post in January, Harris said in a speech in San Francisco that Trump’s leadership was “giving up the sentence” of the American proverb.
