Kamala Harris Doesn’t Think Her Presidential Run Was Her End: ‘The Glass Abyss Signals the End, and I’m Not Interested in That’

Her memoir includes reflections on the campaign, insights into her relationship with Biden and his family, and perspectives on key moments during the election. She regrets not getting enough time with key voter groups and having to define her own narrative under Biden. She claimed in the book that many members of her party — including former President Barack Obama, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker, and California Governor Gavin Newsom — stopped offering her support after Biden withdrew.

She describes Obama’s reaction in her memoir: “Brace yourselves! Joe did what I hoped he would do. But you have to deserve it. Michelle and I support us but we’re not going to put our finger on the scale now. Let Joe have his moment. Think about the timing.”

Harris also writes that it was reckless To leave the decision of whether Biden should run again to the 81-year-old president alone.

During her time as Vice President, she focused on voting rights, gun control, women’s reproductive rights, and infrastructure investment.
