Ghanaian President John Mahama, President of the Supreme Court of the country, has stopped the first step in the country’s history.

Three unannounced petitions were made against Gertrde Torkornoo, which calls for removing them during the launch of the investigation.

The chief judge in Ghana is safely possessing – which means that it can only be removed from the office for a few reasons, which include inefficiency and misconduct.

The content of the petitions has not been announced in public and has not yet commented, while the former Attorney General in Ghana claimed that her suspension is an attempt to undermine the judiciary.

“I think it’s a complete skill,” Godfred Yipah said to the BBC.

“It is the biggest attack on (the judiciary) in the history of the nation, and it is the greatest attack on the independence of the judiciary under the constitutional dispensation of this country.”

TORKORNOO is the third president of Ghana’s judges and was nominated in 2023 by former President Nana Akovo Ado.

It is responsible for supervising the Justice Administration in Ghana.

According to news agency, Reuters, Mrs. Torkornoo escaped the removal request earlier this year when former President Akovo Adodo said that a petition for her refusal to “many palaces”.

No copies of the three recently presented appeals against Mrs. Torkornoo were initially provided.

But some lawyers argued that blocking the documents was a violation of the right of Torkornoo in a fair hearing.

Copies of petition were later provided to the head of the judges, which allowed them to respond to allegations separately and writing.

Mrs. Torkornoo will be invited by the five -member committee to respond again to the petitions before reaching a final decision on whether it should be removed from his position or not.
