Jaron “Boots” Ennis weighs 153.4, Lima 153 on DAZN

Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis and Uisma Lima pulled their weight on Friday in a 12-round junior middleweight bout on Saturday night at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia on October 11.

“Shoes” faces the proving ground

Promoter Eddie Hearn expects Lima to give ‘Boots’ a tough test on Saturday night to make the fight entertaining while it lasts. Ennis (34-0, 30 KOs) looked slimmer than his opponent, Lima (14-1, 10 KOs), although he is slightly heavier.

There is a lot of pressure on Ennis, a former IBF and WBA welterweight champion, to impress in his debut at 154 years old. He talked a lot in the build-up to the fight, and he’ll have to live up to that.

Hearn also encouraged Ennis, calling him the “successor” to Terence Crawford. If ‘Boots’ doesn’t look like a 24-karat gold wallet on Saturday, fans will be all over Hearn saying he’s been shoving fool’s gold at them all this time.

The truth is, we don’t know how good Ennis is because he spent nine years in the pros without facing any opposition at the elite level.

The Big Four rejected – why?

So far, the best name on his resume is Eimantas Stanionis, a major league baseball player. It’s not as if Ennis hasn’t had the opportunity to fight the best of the crop. He reportedly refused to fight against these fighters: Crawford, Devin Haney, Teofimo Lopez, and Virgil Ortiz Jr.

Eddie Hearn said: “I don’t see anyone at 154 beating him. I don’t see anyone at 160 beating him. I actually think 160 would be his best weight as a fighter.” DAZN boxingSpeaking of Jaron Ennis. “Even at 154, his weight is much better than usual, but it’s still a struggle.

“He’s a big guy. He probably competes at 160 or 165 pounds,” Hearn said of Boots. “This guy is an unbelievable talent. You’ll see something different about him tomorrow night.
