Checkta Fairuza Amiri says her team “will represent millions of women in Afghanistan who are deprived of their rights” when the team meets more than three years in an exhibition match in Australia on Thursday.
The Women’s Senate in Afghanistan will play the role of the eleventh boundary cricket in the match at the Melbourne junction. This will combine 21 players who were previously contracted by the Afghan Cricket Council (ACB) before the Taliban regime restores control in August 2021.

Nick Hawkli, CEO of Cricket Australia, praised the flexibility of players. He said it was a strong moment when it was presented with their team shirts in the exhibition match.
“To see their play shirts for the first time with their names and numbers on the back, you can see how much they mean for them,” Holkly said. “I am only inspired by their flexibility and love for the game.”

Afghanistan is a full member of the International Criminal Court and should require the condition of that situation for women.
