The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate condemned the arrest of a prominent local journalist by the Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank.
Ali Samoudi, who worked widely with Western media, was detained during a raid on his son’s house in the northern city of Jenin on Tuesday.
His son Mohamed said that the 58 -year -old was interrogated for half an hour in an unknown position and was later transferred to an Israeli hospital because of his deterioration in his health.
The Israeli army said that Samoudi “was identified with the terrorist (Palestinian) terrorist organization and” suspected of transferring money “, without providing any evidence.
His family strongly denied his involvement and said that in his long career, he had not previously faced such accusation.
They said that the Israeli authorities did not tell them the name of the hospital in which he was treated or any other details.
It is expected to be submitted before a military court next Tuesday.
The Israeli army announced separately on Tuesday that the security forces had detained a total of 24 people wanted “involved in transferring money to terrorist organizations”, including three Jenin, during the raids through the West Bank.

The organization says that 176 other journalists, almost all Palestinians, were killed in Gaza, the West Bank, Israel and Lebanon during the war.
