Despite the Iranian missiles that struck the Haifa region in Israel, the operations of Adani Group remained there. On Friday night, as the explosions across the northern coast, a post on social media indicated that the Haifa port, which is run by Adwani, was destroyed. The group’s financial director, Jegeshnder (Robbie), refuted the demand quickly, describing it as “wrong” in a post on X (officially Twitter).
On the night of June 14, Iran fired ballistic missile strikes in the Haifa Port area in Israel and a nearby oil refinery. The attack was revenge due to the Israeli strikes on Iranian nuclear and military facilities a day ago.
The shrapnel fell from Interceptor missiles at the chemical station at Haifa Port and the additional projectiles fell near the oil refinery, according to the sources that PTI said. There were no reported injuries. The Adani Group Port facility, which has a 70 percent stake in Haifa Port, was not affected by the attack.
A objection part of the western Kishhan area was also recovered in the port, but again, no injuries or infrastructure damage was reported. Goods continued in the port without disturbance.
The sources told PTI that the Iranian strike had not caused any damage to Adani. The Haifa port is an important logistical center, and runs more than 30 percent of Israel’s imports. However, it represents less than 2 percent of the size of the goods that are dealt with by the Adani and SEZ ports, which contributes about 5 percent of its revenues. The company deals with a total of 10.57 million tons of goods.
While there were reports of possible damage to the neighboring oil refinery, the official assertion of the effect was not available.
The accident is revealed amid the escalating tensions in the area. On June 13, Israel launched attacks on Iranian nuclear and military infrastructure, prompting a retaliatory missile attack from Tehran. The confrontation extended to a third day, as both countries exchange fire and the wider region that is preparing for the ongoing conflict.
Iran has claimed that Israel targeted oil hairdressers, a step that could pose risks to the energy sector already approved in Iran and affect the global oil markets. It was reported that some Iranian missiles exceeded the Israeli defenses and set urban targets.
