The security cabinet in Israel agreed early Friday to a plan to occupy Gaza City, which represents an escalation in Israel The ongoing war against Hamas.

This announcement comes after a meeting throughout the night of the cabinet, after the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Announcing that Israel planned to regain control of the entire region and eventually hand it over to the friendly Arab forces opposed to Hamas.

“The Security Council has agreed to the Prime Minister’s proposal to defeat Hamas. The Israeli Defense Army will prepare to control Gaza City while distributing humanitarian aid to the civilian population outside the combat areas,” he read a position from the official X account of the Prime Minister of Israel.

The office said that the security cabinet has adopted, through voting, five principles to conclude the war that include the following: disarmament of Hamas, the return of all hostages – living and deceased, abolishing judges in the Gaza Strip, Israeli security control in the Gaza Strip, and establishing an alternative civil administration that is gas or ethnic authority.

“The vast majority of the security cabinet ministers believe that the alternative plan that was presented to the security cabinet will not achieve the defeat of Hamas or the return of the hostages,” said the Prime Minister’s office.

“We don’t want to keep it. We want to get a security environment,” Netanyahu said in the interview. “We want to hand it over to the Arab forces that will be governed properly without threatening us and giving Ghazan a good life.”

The militants, led by Hamas, kidnapped 251 people and killed about 1,200 in the October 7 2023 massacre. Since then, more than 60,000 Palestinians have been killed in the retaliation of Israel, according to the Hamas -running Ministry of Health in Gaza, which is not distinguished by civilians and fighters.
