Isak breaks silence on the future and says he “cannot continue” in Newcastle

Alexander Issak finally broke his silence on his future in Newcastle, saying that “confidence was lost” and that he “cannot continue” in the club amid constant interest from Liverpool.

In a statement posted on Instagram, ISAK, which was voted on the professional football players team (PFA) for the season in 2024/25 but was not part of the Magpies season or the beginning of the new campaign, claimed that promises were broken and that the change in the best interests of all.

The statement wrote: “First of all, I would like to thank my teammates and every person in Newcastle United who supported me all the way.

“I am not at the party tonight. With everything happening, it was not right to be there.

He said: “I am proud to admit by my professional colleagues with a place in the Premier League team in PFA for the season 2024/25.

“I have been calm for a long time while others spoke. This silence allowed people to pay their own copies of events, although they know that it does not reflect what was really said and agreed behind the closed doors.

“The truth is that promises have been made and that the club has known my position for a long time. In order to act now as if these issues appear only misleading.

“When promises are broken and confidence is lost, the relationship cannot continue. This is where things are now for me – and why the change is in the interest of everyone, not just me.”

Liverpool was closely linked to the Swedish striker this summer. The RDS team witnessed an additional offer of 110 million pounds in addition to Newcastle at the beginning of August.

The 25 -year -old scored 23 goals in 34 Premier League matches, as Eddie’s men ranked fifth to qualify for the Champions League.
