Horror fans have a good idea what to expect from it Pennywise the Clown. Stephen King’s creation takes many forms, but he exists to instill terror in his victims before destroying them, and his most effective and recognizable appearance includes a frilly costume, glowing eyes, and a mouth filled with lots of sharp teeth.
That’s why this new NECA figure is tied to the upcoming HBO series Prequel series Him: Welcome to Derry Very worrying. This is not the Pennywise we are used to encountering in the sewers!
First, and most surprisingly, the figure shows a human face beneath the clown’s wig. And the face below the receding hairline… looks surprisingly cute?

As the NECA website reports, that is Him: Welcome to Derry “Ultimate Bob Gray as Pennywise” action figure in 7-inch scale. If you are more of a casual person He – she As a fan, “Bob Gray” may not ring any bells, but die-hards will recognize the name. And it looks like, at least according to NECA, we’ll be meeting him in the flesh in the new HBO series:
“Before Pennywise became a demonic clown, he was Bob Gray, a circus performer who plays the role of a clown on stage. Based on flashback scenes in the show, this 7-inch scale figure includes multiple interchangeable heads and hands, stage props, flowers, a wooden beaver, a wig, and a wig stand.”
We knew that Welcome to Derry Flashbacks will be used to set the scene in Derry, circa 1962, but seeing Pennywise the Clown before he tangles with an evil entity feels like a pretty big reveal. And that’s not all; The figure includes clown faces that make one of horror’s greatest villains look alternately cute, sad, and happy.
Here are all the accessories that “Ultimate Bob Gray as Pennywise” comes with. A jester isn’t a jester without a wood beaver as his friend, after all.
