Iran meets European diplomats for renewable nuclear conversations

Iranian diplomats met with their counterparts from the United Kingdom, Germany and France for nuclear conversations, and for the first time since Israel launched attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities in June.

With the start of the talks on Friday, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (International Atomic Energy Agency) said that Iran has shown that it would be ready to restart the talks at a technical level regarding its nuclear program.

Rafael Grossvi also indicated that Iran needs to be transparent about its facilities and activities.

“We need to listen to Iran in terms of what they consider to be the precautions to be taken,” he added.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei told Iranian government media that E3 countries should use the meeting to “compensate for their previous policies.”

He also accused the three countries of justifying “breaking law and aggression” by supporting US -Israeli attacks in June, adding that Iran will formally protest its position during the current talks.

In June, the Iranian parliament suspended cooperation with the United Nations International Nuclear Energy Agency after tensions with Israel and the United States to its head.

This came after Israel fired strikes in Iran on June 13, which Tehran responded to missile attacks and drones.

The United States, one of the strongest Israeli allies, then gave Iran a two -week window to resume diplomatic relations.

During that time, on June 20, diplomats from Germany, France and the United Kingdom met Iran to hold talks in Geneva that seeks to cancel the escalation.

Then Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi said that his country was “ready” to meet E3 representatives again.

But after the Geneva talks, Washington launched its own attack on Iranian nuclear facilities. President Trump said that the operation, known as the “midnight operation Hummer”, “was bound” of Iranian nuclear capabilities.

The US intelligence evaluation issued in June indicated that the US strikes did not destroy the country’s nuclear program, and may only restore it.
