The “rising lion operation” of Israel, as it is called an unprecedented attack on Iran. It is more comprehensive and more ambitious than anything before, including the exchange of missiles and drones with Iran last year. For Iran, this is the biggest attack on its territory since the Iran-Iraq war in 1980-1988.

in The darkest hours before dawn The Israeli Air Force not only targeted the sites related to the Iranian nuclear program, but also the country’s air defenses and ballistic missile bases, which reduces Iran’s ability to take revenge.

On the ground and in the shadows, it was said that the network of activists working in Mossad, the intelligence agency abroad in Israel, helped determine the exact location of the main numbers in both military scientists and nuclear scientists.

Among the dead were overnight, the head of the Iranian Islamic Guard Corps (IRGC), the guardians of the Islamic Revolution that overthrew the Shah regime in 1979, as well as the head of the main armed forces and head of the IRGC Air Force. Iran says at least six of its scientists have been killed.

Once again, it was found that the espionage agency in Israel has successfully penetrated the heart of the Iranian Security Corporation, proving that no one is safe.

There will be many potential goals in the Israeli strike list, although some may be out of reach

Iranian State TV reported that 78 people were killed and said that civilians, including children, were among the dead. (This is an unofficial personality and has not been independently verified.)

According to what was reported, Musad was able to launch drones from inside Iran as part of this attack. The main objectives of this entire process were the nuclear enrichment facility in Natanz and the rules belonging to IRGC. For Israeli military planners, it has been a long time.

Iran is reeling, and this may be the first wave. There will be many potential targets in the Israeli strike list, although some may be far from hand, and underground burial in bounds reinforced under solid rocks.

So what led to this attack by Israel and why now?

Collecting the Iranian nuclear program

Israel, and many Western countries, suspect that Iran is secretly working on the so -called “intermittent power”, which means the point of release in developing an applicable nuclear weapon.

Iran denies this and has always insisted that its civil nuclear program – which has received help from Russia – is for completely peaceful purposes.

For more than a decade, Israel was trying, with varying degrees of success, to slow the nuclear progress of Iran. Iranian scientists were assassinated in mysterious circumstances by the unknown attackers, and the military head of the nuclear program, Brigadier General Jane Fakhrezadeh was killed by a remote defender on a single road near Tehran in 2020.

Before that, the United States and Israeli managed to include the devastating computer virus, which was called Stuxnet, in Iranian centrifugal devices, causing control of control.

This week, the United Nations World Nuclear Agency, the International Atomic Energy Agency (International Atomic Energy Agency), found Iran in violation of its obligations other than spreading and threatened to refer it to the United Nations Security Council.

Many concerns about the Iranian nuclear program arise of highly fertilized uranium storage (HeU) to 60 percent, beyond the level needed to generate civilian nuclear energy and a relatively short leap to the level to start building a bomb.

There was a deal to reduce the Iranian nuclear program. This was completed in 2015 during the Obama presidency, but Donald Trump called “the worst deal in the world” and when he entered the White House, he removed the United States from him. The following year, Iran stopped compliance with it.

No one outside Iran wants the Islamic Republic to own the nuclear bomb. Israel, a small country with many of its 9.5 million populations, is concentrated in urban areas. Iran is nuclear armed as an existential threat.

It refers to the many statements written by senior Iranian figures calling for the destruction of the state of Israel. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Jordan and the Arab countries do not care about the regime of the Iranian Revolutionary Islamic Republic, but they learned to live with him as neighbors.

They will now be very tense about the dangers of this conflict that is spreading to their beaches.

For Israel, the timing was crucial. Iran has already weakened due to the effective defeat or the elimination of its agents and allies in Lebanon, Syria and Gaza. Her air defenses were severely dangerous after last October attacks by Israel.

There is a sympathetic head in the White House, and finally, it was said that Israel was afraid that some of the main uranium enrichment equipment in Iran would be transferred to the depths of the earth.

Where does this go from here?

It is clear what Israel wants through this process: it aims, at least, to restore the Iranian nuclear program according to years. It is preferable to stop it completely.

There will also be many military, political and intelligence circles in Israel who hope that this process will weaken Iran’s leadership until it collapses completely, as it continues in a more benign system that no longer represents a threat in the region. This thinking may be wishing on their part.

President Trump said on Friday that Iran has a “second chance” to agree to a deal. The sixth round of the United States negotiations was scheduled to take place in Muscat on Sunday, but Israel does not put much of the store through these talks.

Frank Gardner says Israel’s timing was very important. Among other things, there is a sympathetic president in the White House

Just as Russia accused tension along Trump’s peace talks with Ukraine, Israel believes that Iran is doing the same here.

Israel believes that this is its best and perhaps latter opportunity to kill the suspected nuclear weapons program in Iran.

“Israel’s unprecedented strikes through Iran were designed during the night to kill President Trump’s chances of concluding a deal to contain the Iranian nuclear program,” says Eli Jihadeh, a prominent policy fellow at the European Council for Foreign Relations (ECFR.

“It is clear that the timing of (attacks) and the large -scale nature was aimed at hindering the conversations completely.”

Washington has made some lengths to move to Iran that it did not participate in this attack. But if Iran decides to take revenge on any of the numerous American bases in the region, either directly or through agents, there is a danger that the United States can be wounded to another conflict in the Middle East.

Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khameneini, pledged a “harsh punishment” for Israel, but Iran is in a much weaker situation today than it was two years ago and its options for revenge are limited.

Talking about nuclear arms race

However, there is a greater danger here. The Israeli process can still lead to opposite results, which leads to a nuclear armament race.

The militant falcons have long argued within the Iranian security establishment that the best deterrence against future attacks by Israel or the United States will have a nuclear bomb. They will have noticed the fate of the various leaders in Libya and North Korea.

Colonel Gaddafi, Libya, abandoned his program for weapons of mass destruction in 2003; Eight years later, he died in a trench, to be overthrown by the Arab spring protests supported by the Western Air Force.

In contrast, North Korea has defied all international sanctions to build a huge arsenal of nuclear warheads and intercontinental ballistic missiles, enough to make any possible striker think twice.

Regardless of the final damage, the final damage is from the process of Israel, if the Iranian regime has survived – and the possibilities have been challenged before – then there is a danger that will now accelerate its race towards building and even testing a nuclear bomb.

If this happens, this will almost lead to a nuclear arms race in the Middle East, with Saudi Arabia and Turkey and perhaps Egypt all need one as well.
