India and Pakistan face a new struggle. A look at their relationship – my country

India Multiply Inside the Pakistani territories, early on Wednesday, two weeks after a deadly attack on tourists in the disputed Kashmir, the relations between the neighbors were drowned to its lowest levels.

India has accused Pakistan of supporting the massacre, in which 26 men were killed, most of whom were Indian Hindu, a charge of denied by Pakistan.

1947-After months of the end of British India to Hindu India mostly and a Muslim majority, the two young countries are fighting their first war to control Kashmir with an Islamic majority, then a kingdom ruled by a Hindu king. The war killed thousands before it ended in 1948.

1949-The non-medium intermediate ceasefire line leaves Kashmir divided between India and Pakistan, with a promise to vote with the auspices of the United Nations that would enable the people of the region to decide whether it will be part of Pakistan or India. This vote was never held.

1965 – Competitors are fighting their second war on Kashmir. Thousands are killed in an insecure fight before the ceasefire by the Soviet Union and the United States. Negotiations in Tashman run until January 1966, ending on both sides who prepared the areas they seized during the war and withdrawn their armies.

1971 – India interferes in a war about East Pakistan’s independence, which ends with the separation of the region as a new country in Bangladesh. About 3 million people were killed in the conflict.

1972 – India and Pakistan signed the peace agreement, as it renamed the ceasefire line in Kashmir as a Contro. The two sides deploy more forces along the border, and turn them into a very fortified extension of military outposts.

1989 – The Kashmiri dissident, with the support of Pakistan, launches a bloody rebellion against Indian rule. Indian forces respond to brutal measures, intensify diplomatic and military skirmishes between New Delhi and Islamabad.

1999 – Pakistani soldiers and Kashmiri fighters seize several peaks in the Himalayas on the Indian side. India responds to air and artillery shelling. At least 1,000 fighters have been killed for 10 weeks, and the world is afraid that fighting can escalate to the nuclear conflict. The United States ultimately steps to mediate and end the fighting.

2016-The militants infiltrate an army base in Kashmir, which is controlled by Indian, killing at least 18 soldiers. India responds to sending special forces inside the Pakistani -controlled lands, and later claimed that it had killed many suspects suspected of “surgical strikes”. Pakistan denies that the strikes occurred, but they lead to days of major border skirmishes. The fighters and civilians were killed on both sides.

2019-The two sides approached the war again after a rebel in Al-Kashmiri bombed a car loaded in a bus carrying Indian soldiers, killing 40. India carried out air strikes in Pakistani territory and claims to have hit a tattoo training facility. Pakistan later shoots an Indian warplane and picks a pilot. He was released later, and did the tensions.

2025 – The gunmen attack the Indian tourists in the town of Bahmam in the region’s resort and killed 26 men, most of them Hindus. India blames Pakistan, which denies it. India undertakes revenge on the attackers as tensions rise to its highest point since 2019. The two countries abolish visas for each other, remember diplomats, close their land border crossing and close their air locations to each other. New Delhi also hangs a decisive water sharing treaty.
