Tensions between traditional livelihoods and modern defense priorities grow in Northern Finland. Since joining NATO in 2023, Finland has increased military exercise near the release of Rufajg – the largest in Western Europe. For reindeer shepherds, NATO and international forces began to annoy animals during critical periods such as the birth season.
