Roddenberry, the remembrance, created the “Star Trek” privilege as a direct response to what he saw in the real world. He looked at his window and saw wars, racism, corruption, nationalism, and the sins of serious humanity. He was adult during World War II, after he was born in 1921. Rodenberry witnessed the betrayal of herself. He created, as a reaction, a fictional world where all these problems were solved – where we learned, as a type, to put our differences in the end and work together. We did not do that for profit, but to become better, wise, more sympathetic and more open.
But he was not very optimistic that we felt that we could push ourselves naturally in this direction, just because we loved the idea. No, we had to come within a cover of extinction first. Rodnberie was living in a dark time of violence. It seems that it is unlikely that the people of the earth will wake up one morning and decide to put their weapons and money. A terrible thing that should happen to us first – something dark and destructive.
In the world “Star Trek”, Humanity participates in the wars of birth improvementAnd it is a struggle in which it becomes the “pure” changes that have been genetically changed, global dictators. In the end, it happened in the middle of the twenty -first century. Then, birth control wars were raised with World War III, with a devastating nuclear attack that wipes the bulk of the planet. From the fifties of the twentieth century to the 1970s, humanity has been adhering to a thread and survival in the cities of huts after the terrible. The concepts of the genetic “purity” and violence led to the brink of the abyss. Billions ended with death.
This is where we may be in 2025-in a place where birth controls and responsible violence devices take over. “Star Trek”, though, reminds us that the horrors will never continue, and the evils of the past will be our lessons. It also reminds us, with optimism, we will learn, grow and rebuild ourselves … and we are actually better.
Things are now bad, and it may get worse, but “Star Trek” promises that we will definitely rebuild them – not only, but to rebuild Utopia. It is an important message for 2025.
