Virender Sehwag loves the aggressive Shreyas Iyer approach, and if Iyer is chosen in the team and plays with the same approach in the red cricket game, the team will benefit more.

Sehwag believes that to face England’s aggressive approach to a cricket test, the Indian team can also adapt to an aggressive approach and put it under pressure.

“When you are in good condition, it is good to take it to the tour because there are higher opportunities for his performance. I would like to see him in the test team. If he maintains the same approach in the cricket test, it benefits the team.

“If you have 2-3 such players, this puts fear in the opposition. England plays in 6-7 runs/more. If the Indian team can play in 4-5 runs/more, they can put them under pressure,” Siwag stated.

Sehwag also highlighted that Iyer had a great season in all formats, and he also led the Punjab kings well in IPL 2025.

“Air has gone through a wonderful season, he is also a captain. Why can’t he not play in the cricket test? He can definitely play the three shapes.”

IYEer’s aggressive cricket was to pressure England in the English language conditions, where the upper hand was in swing conditions.
