WASHINGTON (AP) – The agency in charge of implementing the mass deportation campaign for President Donald Trump is going through a major organization of employees.
In a press release on Thursday, the enforcement of immigration and customs announced leadership changes in the administration in charge of creating immigrants, arresting them and removing them who are no longer the right to be in the country as well as in the agency’s investigation department.
Kenneth GenaloWho was a prosecutor for enforcement and removal, retires and will work as a private government employee with ICE. Robert Hamer, who was the head of investigations into internal security, will move to another leadership role at the headquarters.
The agency said that Marcus Charles will become the new Ero Ero president, while Derek Gordon will be the head of acting in HSI. ICE has also announced a set of other employees’ changes in various departments within the agency.
Ice said that the changes “will help President Trump to achieve and authorize the American people to arrest and deport illegal foreigners and make American societies safe.”
The news comes after the White House Chief of Staff Stephen Miller said Fox Earlier this week, the administration set a target of 3000 ICE arrests every day and that the number might rise.
“President Trump will continue to pay for this number above every day,” said Miller.
Three thousand arrests per day would represent a significant increase in the daily arrests of the current numbers. Between January 20 and May 19, the agency arrested 78,155 people, which translates into 656 arrests on average daily.
