I write this from Paris, a city wrapped in blue and yellow. Everywhere around me, Ukrainian flags are hanging like ethical badges installed on French facades.

I only arrived in this city a few weeks before the survivor of the genocide in Gaza, leaving my country burning behind me. I had the honor to evacuate by the French government as a student who was accepted at a French university.

What surprised me first about Paris, this is the alleged city of freedom, its coordinated sadness, sympathy for sanctions, and decorated silence.

France mourns Ukraine loudly. Gaza, on the other hand, should be whispering. The Palestinian flag cannot be seen here. It is hidden, afraid, criminal. If you are lucky, you find it painted in writing on the walls, a shy advertisement of solidarity that is sprayed in a hurry like the secret.

Should I be surprised?

After all, France is a colonial empire that has never disintegrated itself, but it was only renamed. From Algeria to Vietnam to Syria, France’s hands are stained with the blood of those who dared to resist it.

When France supported the Zionist movement in the twentieth century, when it trained the Israeli officers, when it helped express a settler state ready on the stolen land, it was not out of ignorance. It was out of solidarity and white solidarity, with another colonial project.

France condemned the Russian invasion of Ukraine within hours. She opened its borders. She cried on TV. The concerts were canceled and imposed penalties. Why? Because Ukraine is white.

But when the entire Israel falls in Gaza, when hospitals explode, the children are starving, cutting water, falling out of the banned weapons, and grinding families in bone dust, France is hesitant. It is equivocates. Blame Hamas. He insists on “context”. The hands of Israel more weapons.

What is happening in Gaza is not a “conflict.” It is not “complicated”. It is genocide.

Through official statistics, more than 63,000 Palestinians have been killed since October 7, 2023; Through scientific estimates, the real number of deaths is hundreds of thousands. More than 70 percent of women and children.

More than 80 percent of the population escapes, barely, on one meal per day, often canned food, cooked grass or leaves. Every day, we lose dozens of civilians trying to get help. About 340 children and adults of hunger died in just a few months.

Each hospital was destroyed in the north. Children are amputated without anesthesia. People with chronic diseases die widely due to the lack of medications and treatment.

Help trucks are banned. Water desalination plants are bombed. More than two million people are displaced. However, there is silence.

United Nations experts, all major international human rights organizations, thousands of legal scholars and others, and even former Israeli officials said this war has crossed every red law.

However, here in France, we were told to reduce our voices. We were told that the screaming “free Palestine” may be anti -Semitic. People who waved Ukrainian flags proudly tell us that our sadness should be “balanced”. They are angry against Russian imperialism, but they justify the colonization of the Israeli settlers. This is not neutral. This is white excellence.

Gaza has become its moral exception. Blind spot. Another consumption. The news in every news room directs itself to avoid it.

But here is the truth: Palestine has no army, no planes, no ships, nor nuclear weapons. What we have is resistance. Hamas is not a state army. It is the result of decades of siege, occupation, racist and abandonment. While European leaders are rushing to condemn Hamas at every opportunity they get, they refuse to condemn the occupation that was born. They erase our right to resistance, with the glorification of Ukrainian resistance, and leave weapons and praise.

In Ukraine, Molotov cocktails are a “heroism”. In Gaza, stones are “terrorism”. This is hypocrisy. These are the white sympathy algorithm.

What is happening in Gaza is not a war between two army. It is the mixed destruction of the people operated by one of the most advanced armies in the world. With the help of genocide with Western weapons, it is protected by Western silence, and its beautification by human lies.

France wants to pretend to be historic complicity, and that it ended with the end of official colonialism. But how to explain weapons? Diplomatic immunity? He refused to adhere to the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu? Banked protests supporting the Palestinian in Paris? Monitor Muslim students?

Gaza left in the evacuation of the United Nations, organized by the French consulate in Jerusalem, my name was chosen from among the thousands. I was not allowed to carry anything. No laptop. No books. There are no memories. Only clothes on my back and phone.

I passed through the Israeli checkpoints, as the soldiers looked at the soldiers as if I were not human. Four hours across the desert felt four decades. Now I am here, I walk in the streets of a city claiming to love freedom, while my people die for a boldness he wants.

Do not tell me that this is just a policy. It is racist. It is hypocrisy. The genocide of my people is monitored from the balconies covered with Ukrainian flags.

I do not want compassion. I want accountability. I want justice. I want to see the Palestinian flags hanging next to the signs of Ukraine, not as competition, but as a fact. Because if solidarity depends on skin color, borders, or geopolitical attention, this is not solidarity. It is superior.
