I liked the use of this keyboard, but there was one thing that I could not get used to

Game keyboards are everywhere these days, and with a large number of options available, it is not difficult to find a good one. It can also be expensive, so it may be difficult to know if the investment deserves money. It is in mind, I got the new new Volkan II is a mini mini from Turtle. I have some ideas.

Turtle Beach bought the company behind these keyboards, Roccat, several years ago, but it started only to gradually get rid of that brand in May 2024. So you can still find the Roccat brand on Air Vulcan II Mini Air (you can see it in my review sample) if you buy one in the near future.

What I like about Turtle Beach Vulcan II Mini Air

First things, size. 65 % design is my ideal setting because it still includes stock keys. The real FPS players may prefer a 60 % design, but I tend to mix my species, and I am also a writer in my working life, so I prefer the existence of stock keys (home/end switches – do not dare take them away from me). I do not miss the keys or keys of allocated media too much, but this is definitely personal.

Vulcan II Mini chooses for optical switches on the most traditional mechanical keys. At the risk of generalization, optical and mechanical keys are primarily different in how to register them in operating each key. Mechanical keys use material contact between two metal plates while light keys use light symptoms to detect operation.

I didn’t use the visual keys a lot before the Vulcan II Mini test, but I can see its attractiveness for hard -line players. The idea is that the sensors that are activated for light allow a much shorter operating point for key printing presses, which means that there is less time between when your finger moves to press the key and this key is recorded by your computer.

The Turtle Beach says its red linear keys are 1.4 mm, which is a decent improvement on 2 mm of most mechanical keys. However, you will likely notice the shorter operating point if you are a hard -line player who needs to be prioritized for each millisecond. Personally, I could not know a difference compared to the main keyboard with mechanical cherry keys.

Another big advantage of visual similar feature Hall effect Keys in keyboards such as Volkan II TKL Pro. Since the sensors are activated with light and not the physical contact between two panels, there is less friction with each keypress. So the keys should last for a little longer. Most traditional mechanical keys are classified for about 100 million prints. This was classified for 200 million. This is a great feature if you do not tend to upgrade the keyboard often.

To be honest, it took me some time to get used to feeling visual keys. They are not soft by any means, but they are significantly softer than the traditional keys that they are used to. Fortunately, it is more by touching the keys to the effect of the hall. A few hours later, I couldn’t notice much of the difference anymore between Volcan II Mini and the regular keyboard.

Vulcan II Mini is first -class. It gives her an aluminum painting with a gentle solid sensation without any screaming or given that I can discover it anywhere. In 578 grams, it is not very heavy as well. The common brake cable also feels well. It is good to be available in white, although I wonder how it will remain clean in the long run. The two -placed kickstands allows some pleasant comfortable options.

The customization is one of the areas in which the turight beach increases slightly. Through Swarm, you can access many typical customizations for keyboard games. But Turtle Beach also adds a secondary function to 29 key, so that you can run another procedure quickly. These smart keys are also equipped with dual LED lights indicating how long is the secondary function active. Moreover, you can store up to five different profiles, so that you can prepare the perfect configuration for your favorite games.

The self -respect keyboard will not prevent you from customizing RGB lighting to your heart content. Of course you can choose from a variety of lighting effects. This includes the effect of AIMO, which coincides with all your turtle beach accessories together so that the lighting effects are coordinated.

Battery life

Being a wireless keyboard, the battery life is important. The Vulcan II Mini says it can expand for 240 hours of continuous use without active RBG lighting, which is a bold claim. I did not use the keyboard exclusively for about four weeks, but even with intense use, I still could not kill them, with the presence of RGB lights. Suffice it to say, the battery life was great for me.

One uses Trick Turtle Beach to accomplish this proximity sensor in the keyboard that automatically discovers your presence to turn the lights and stop them. Logitech does something similar in some of its keyboards, so it is not a revolutionary, but TURTLE Beach allows you to set the effect somewhat by changing the sensitivity of the sensor. At least, this is the theory. I couldn’t get SWARM to save the settings for this when I changed it, so I can’t talk to how effective.

As the name “air” may suggest, this version of Volcan II Mini is wireless (There is a wire option for $ 119). It can contact four devices: three via Bluetooth in addition to one via a 2.4 GHz wireless dungel. The only downside that I found when calling via Bluetooth is that I can never get it to appear in the Swarm Turkey Beach app. It has appeared well when scientists are used, but not on Bluetooth.

What I did not like about Turtle Beach Vulcan II Mini Air

Cool like optical keys, the writing experience was not great. I am a final writer, so I always give priority for a great writing experience first and try good second games. Even after using the Mini exclusively for more than three weeks, I couldn’t have the same level as writing it as with Keychron Q81 Pro. I am ready to admit that many of this can be attributed to the low II mini design, which I have never found comfortable as a full -size profile.

Vulcan II micro air time is much slower than many other keyboards that you used. I am not sure if this is due to the proximity sensor or anything else, but sometimes it takes up to 10 seconds until my computer begins to record key presses.

Do you have to buy Volcan’s second mini beach turtles?

In general, it’s a nice keyboard with a lot of excellent features of a person looking for a dangerous gaming keyboard. The small size means that it does not occupy a lot of space on the office, as the visual keys provide fast response times and more durability, and customization options are almost no end. For me, though, I struggled to use it as a daily keyboard because it did not give me the tact and a feeling that I am better, but if you are looking to upgrade your gaming keyboard, or just diving in the world of keyboards for the first time, Aircan II Mini Air is a great choice.
