The 17 -year -old Qatari businessman Madih sparked a crowd of crowds in India, online, as critics accused him of sponsoring the comments and comparisons that are determined for his Gulf upbringing.
Muhammad Jouetim, who calls himself an “international businessman”, published a video explaining the reason for his “richest country in the world” to live in India. The clip was intended as a greeting to the energy ethics in India – but many viewers did not take it this way.
“I left the richest country in the world to live here in India,” says Getim in the video, noting that while life in Qatar is “comfortable and predictable,” India is driven by unnecessary ambition. “Everyone is working tirelessly … this is steadfastness, passion and discipline.”
His comments, however, quickly extracted sharp responses. “No one pleads with you to stay,” he picked up a user. “His brothers, focus. I came here to make money, not a documentary film.” Others accused Jueitem of exploiting the Indian content of the content. “This content has been made to reduce India,” one of the commentators wrote. Another added, “After the egg savior, we have the Arab savior. Cold.”
One of the intense response in particular read, “India is more comfortable because of the white concession”, drew attention to the perceptions of foreign concession and selective admiration.
Despite the opposite reaction, Jueitem remains optimistic in his message, saying that he and his team are working on a project called “Cosmos”, which is believed to be “a big area of growth” and aims to “leave an effect”.
The polarization response reflects broader tensions on how foreigners develop their experiences in India – and the thin line between admiration and seizure.
