Seven years after India’s departure from Colombia Business College, the influencer, the Sharan Higdy, says that staying in their homes was the best decision in his life – because he is now watching the largest companies in the world to manufacture in India.

In the LinkedIn post, Hegde was reflected at the moment when he turned away from India. “Why will I stay in a country importing everything?” Remember thinking. “America is the place where innovation occurs.”

Today, the story turned. Hegde referred to the rapid shift of India to a global manufacturing power: mobile phone production jumps from 26 % locally to 99.2 %, a jump from two mobile factories only a decade before more than 300, and a third of the US smartphones that you have now made in India. He pointed out that Apple is emitting to the iphone components from India to China.

The publication was full of difficult numbers: electronics production increased from 1.9 rupees to 11.3 rupees; Defense manufacturing increases 225 %. Pharmaceutical exports have doubled to $ 30.5 billion.

“I thought Colombia would teach me how to build a billion companies,” he wrote. “India taught me how to be part of a trillion dollars.”

The tone turned from the personality to nationalism. He said: “Made in India” once as if he was settling, but now “it seems like a victory.”

In a final boost, Hegde urged his followers to see daily decisions as part of a broader shift. “The next purchase is your next choice: support the shift or view from the side lines,” he wrote. “Let’s make” made in India “is not just a sign, but our first choice.”
